11/03/2012

1) Managed 10 mins on the treadmill without too much impact (literally!) to my foot & ankle.  Promising ...

2) The girls had lots of good stuff to show me when I got home - new acquisitions, but more importantly they'd worked hard on some marvellous creations, with no parental assistance

3) Had fun again fiddling with my laptop, the weekend's woes far behind me.  Couldn't get the BCD to enable booting into the openSUSE installation, but did get Oracle VirtualBox installed, which seems to be a miraculous (and free!) bit of software

10/04/2012

1) Had coffee with my very-recently-ex boss.  Was good to chat as friends again

2) Home by 7 so saw the kids for more than just a quick kiss goodnight.

3) My computer is fixed!

Mind the gap ...

I've been a bit lax ... here are some things that happened in the meantime:

- The mist over the pond just outside the station was stunning, rising as high as the surrounding trees
- The ladies in Pret were on good form - lots of banter about them dressing up for easter
- A fun Good Friday family service
- A good time had at Emmett's Garden, incuding me getting a decent play with my new lens, and new close-up filters
- Great banter at Grandma and Grandad's.  Grandma did her classic "everyone's wine glasses are empty" meaning "my wine glass is empty".  There was also recipe controversy (when isn't there?)
- Chillin' @ home
- Puss in Boots FTW!

02/04/2012

1) A woman at London Bridge station broke into a run. I thought she wad going to collide with someone ... but then they broke into huge smiles and hugged as old friends do.

2) Parking up my scooter was a dream thanks to my new scooter tent!

3) Saw both kids for kissy-cuddles, which was a pleasant suprise given I didn't get back 'til 8.

01/04/2012

1) Rocked out in church!

2) Did some beading and they turned out fairly close to my intention, which was good.  Also had some joy testing the Deko gel for the first time.

3) Plato wins at the first BTCC meet in his MG, to lead the championship.  The scriptwriters couldn't have managed a better start to the season.

31/03/2012

1) The girls had cute turned to 11 at times today!

2) New scooter "house" finally erected.  It was a pain in the posterior to put up but it's going to be much more pleasant getting going in the morning and parking up in the evening in future.

3) Phantom of the Opera may be high camp, and over-blown 80s pop ... but my, it hits the high notes harder than anything else, doesn't it?

30/03/2012

1) Made the 6:45 by seconds ... but Autosport on the train got me chilled out again.

2) Presentations went well today.

3) Saw the girls again this evening.  They love their new tennis rackets!

29/03/2012

1) Black Swan is unreasonably good.  I was expecting it to be good, but it was an order of magnitude better.  The photography is superb.  The build-up of tension is thrilling, and the acting entrancing.  Wonderful.

2) Got home very early, and the kids were having a ball in the garden.

3) Spent some quality time with them, too, as Grandma and Grandad had them all ready for bed in good time.

28/03/2012

1) Second gym visit in three days - feels good to be getting back on it

2) Listened to Sorcerer's Apprentice by Dukas on the train, had to stop reading and listen to it twice more.  It's 10 minutes of perfection, and _very_ French.  Of course, when I listen to it I can't help by see Mickey Mouse in a big blue hat, but then that's not really a bad thing ...

3) Jacket ordered somewhat randomly looks much better than anticipated.  It's the wrong size, but when I get the right one I'm going to look AMAZING

27/03/2012

1) My, but the Shard looked magnificent this morning!  And a plane flew past it as I was looking and I swear it was flying lower than the top of the building!

2) My eldest put in a wonderful performance in her school play.  The Easter Story told remarkably sensitively given their ages.

3) Conrad Gempf wrapped up his short series 'This Is Our Faith' as informatively and entertainingly as it began three weeks ago.  How I read the epistles is changed for good (in both senses).

26/03/2012

1) Getting outside and actually seeing some natural daylight several times today, for one reason or another
2) Joined a gym and had a good first session
3) Listened to the first few tracks of "When Harry Met Sally" for the first time in years. It really is an almost perfect album!
